Around the end of July, right after I celebrated my thirty-eighth birthday, I started trying to come to terms with what this year was going to look like for us. It was decided (by our school district) that Max and Ella would be starting their school year virtually, and that Theo would not attend preschool this fall. What that meant for me was that I was going have all four of my kids home with me full-time. For someone who is used to having very little time to myself, this was still a bit overwhelming for me to process. I started to get anxious about how I was going to survive the upcoming months. I decided that I would have to do whatever I could to make time for me, and the things that I enjoy, as selfish as that might sound. This includes making time for exercise, working on DIY projects, and reading.
Reading is something that I have always enjoyed, but I had gotten away from it. Admittedly, I’ve always been a sucker for a good suspense novel or something from the Young Adult genre, and I’ve grown to love most books from Reese Witherspoon’s Book Club. So I chose a book, and I dove right in… and I haven’t stopped since. I’ve shared a lot of what I’ve been reading over on my Instagram stories, but I have gotten a few requests to compile a list of the books I have loved in a blog post, so here it is. Below you will find all of the books I have read this summer, along with a list of the books that I plan to read in the near future. A fellow mom recommended Colleen Hoover’s, It Ends With Us to me a few weeks ago, and I loved it so much, that I have now basically read everything she has written. Among my favorites were Hopeless, Verity, and Ugly Love. I also read Heart Bones, but could not get the link to work in this post. If you’ve read something you really enjoyed recently, please send your recommendations my way!
