My first blog post of the new year and it took a little while to finally hit publish. I really felt the need over these last several weeks to step back, to enjoy the holiday season, and to think deeply about what I envisioned for myself, my family, and this space in the coming year. I know resolutions aren’t for everyone, but I always like to think of New Year’s as a fresh start! I saw this idea floating around a few weeks ago for 20 things in 2020. In my loose interpretation of this concept I decided to start keeping a little list of things that I wanted to keep on my radar this year. Things I wanted to strive for or accomplish. Some of the things are big, some are small. Some things I will accomplish, and some I may fail miserably at, but I was feeling inspired and decided to share my 20 things with the hopes of inspiring you all as well! So here it goes…
1. Get my physical and mental health check and stick to a routine. If you’ve been following me this last year then you might know that I have suffered from some postpartum/hormonal anxiety, and exercise/physical activity has really helped me manage that!
2. Create more content for this space that I’m passionate about: diy, home decor, food. I have so many ideas for where I want this blog to go this year!
3. Update the boy’s room. It’s one of the few rooms in the house that I haven’t touched at all, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!
4. Drink more water. No explanation needed.
5. Read at least 1 book per month.
6. Make more time for crafts. I really got away from my creative side last year, and I have missed making and creating.
7. Update the sunroom/patio. This is a BIG project, but Mike and I plan to fully tackle this this spring!
8. Get our basement cleaned out, create playroom/craft space. This space has basically served as a storage space since we moved and I really want to turn it into a more useable area of our home.
9. Take at least one trip alone with Mike. So needed.
10. Take one trip as a family. This is a goal every year.
11. Eat more fruits and vegetables. I don’t think I ate any in December!!!
12. Rest more. Finally learning that it is okay to do this!
13. Be on my phone less. A serious goal this year!
14. Drink more tea and less coffee.
15. Do a pull-up/chin-up. This one might seem strange, but I have never in my whole life been able to do one and I really hope to work on my upper body strength.
16. Run a half marathon. Already registered for one in the fall!
17. Be more patient with my kids on weekday mornings. This. One. Will. Be. So. Hard.
18. Go to church/pray more often. Also so needed.
19. Make more time for myself. Doesn’t matter what this entails, I just need to make me a priority sometimes.
20. Go after more partnerships with brands that are a “goal” to work with. I have so many hopes and aspirations for this platform and I really can’t wait to see what this year holds.
Above and beyond everything here, I just want to thank you all for taking the time to be here throughout the years. Your support, your comments, the fact that you take the time to read or like my posts means the world to me and it is truly the reason I keep on going. Happy New Year to each and every one of you!
