You might remember last spring when I shared the little room that we had turned into Lilah’s nursery. It’s a small space just off of our master bedroom that was pretty much perfect for a nursery, and keeping an infant nearby, but we never planned on it remaining her bedroom longterm (of course I have other plans for it!). She will be a year old in early May (totally crying over here), and our plan is to move her in with Ella shortly after that, so that the girls can share a room. I can’t even tell you how excited Ella is about this. Our boys have always shared a room, and we intend to keep it that way for as long as possible, so that we can keep our extra bedroom as a guest room.
I have been working on the design for Ella’s room for quite some time now. I painted the walls intimate white by Sherwin Williams, the perfect shade of light pink, and then we added a gorgeous accent wall, with this removable wallpaper. Her room has lots of blues and pinks in it currently, and I love it, but honestly I’ve been wanting to add more color to the space for awhile. I’m reluctant about it, but I think we’re actually going to remove the accent wall because I’ve decided to go with a super fun rainbow theme for her and Lilah’s shared room.
It all started when I saw these sheets. I loved all of the colors and knew that Ella would be so excited about the rainbows. It spiraled from there. The more I searched, the more adorable stuff I found. My amazing friend Kelly, made these hand painted letters to go over each of the girl’s beds, and I literally squealed when she sent me a picture of them! You guys need to check out her shop on Etsy, Shop Gav & Ro. She is amazingly talented.
I highly recommend creating a mood board when you are planning out the decor for rooms in your house. Apps like Canva and Pic Monkey are great for this, and I think it is so helpful to see everything together before investing in pieces for the space you are designing. I can’t wait to share the finished room with you guys once it is complete!
