A little over six weeks ago, I decided that I wanted to try something different than Weight Watchers. I had been following WW since August, and had been seeing good results, but then the holidays came, and I sort of fell off the wagon (basically cheese plates and wine had become my meal of choice). I had started to hear some buzz about Faster Way to Fat Loss over on Instagram, and around the start of the new year, I was intrigued. I had been wanting to learn more about counting macros for awhile, and I had been considering giving intermittent fasting a whirl. Seeing as FWTFL is a program that uses both of those methods, in addition to carb cycling to help you burn fat, it seemed like something that I would be into. Faster Way is not necessarily a “weight-loss program”, like what I’m used to, but more of a fat-loss program.
Naturally, I did what any curious person does these days, and I began researching the program via popular hashtags (#fasterwaytofatloss and #fwtfl) on Instagram and I was blown away by the before and after photos that women who had done rounds of the program were sharing. The more I read about FWTFL and the more results I saw, the more motivated I was to sign up, so one day I just went for it.
At first, I thought the program seemed a little on the pricey side compared to what I was accustomed to with WW Online, but based on the results I saw other people achieving, I decided the investment was worth it. In all honesty, I don’t treat myself very often, and spending money on my own health and wellness seemed like a good choice. At the very beginning of FWTFL I was totally confused, but thanks to the program’s PREP week, within a few days I was fluent in the Faster Way lingo. They teach you all about the ins and outs of the lifestyle through an online portal and Live Facebook classes. It all seemed simple enough and I was anxious to get started. I took my measurements and weighed myself, even though according to FWTFL you’re supposed to ditch the scale, and I dove in headfirst.
I’ve shared a lot of my journey and what I’ve been eating over on Instagram because there seemed to be a lot of interest there. Many of you wanted to know more about the program, what I thought about, how I felt, and if I liked it better than Weight Watchers? I screenshot a good chunk of the questions that I was asked and that I answered on Insta, and now I’m sharing them here, along with some more detailed info.

In a nutshell, I absolutely loved my first round of FWTFL. Everything about it that I thought would be challenging I found really wasn’t. The first few days of practicing intermittent fasting were a little tough, but once I got the hang of it, it became pretty easy. On the days where I felt particularly hungry, I just drank more water or I would sip on decaffeinated herbal tea. While following the program, you have two low carbohydrate days a week. These were not difficult for me at all, seeing as you are able to make up for the carb deficit by eating more fat and protein. Then there are the regular macro and low macro days. All of this is outlined on the Faster Way website and you track your macros in the My Fitness Pal app (this was a lot like tracking WW for me). I know all of this sounds a little confusing/overwhelming, but I promise you guys that once you get going it’s really not. At the end of my first six weeks, I can honestly say that I have more energy, I’m eating better than I ever have, I’m never hungry, and I feel amazing! So much so that I signed on again, and am currently in my first week of the FWTFL VIP program.
Now onto the part that most of you probably really want to see. I don’t know why, but these photos are always difficult for me to share. Don’t get me wrong, I’m proud of my results, and I am fully aware that I have carried, birthed, and nursed four babies over the last seven years, but like the saying goes, “we are our own worst critics”. The photos on the left are my before photos, and the photos on the right are the results I achieved after six weeks of following the program. I don’t want to call them my “afters”, because I am not done with this journey yet, this is only the beginning. At the end of six weeks, I was down 10 pounds and 9.75 inches all over! Also, because this is a program that embraces non-scale victories I feel inclined to share that I went down a pant size, tightened my belt and my Apple Watch band, and can easily get my wedding band on and off for the first time in years. Did I stick to the program 100%? No, I did not. The beauty of Faster Way though is that it focuses on progress over perfection. It’s a lifestyle, not a diet, so when I had an off day, I just jumped right back into it the next. Did I complete every workout? That’s a big nope as well. Although the program provides workouts and offers options for both at home and the gym, I didn’t workout every day. I did however try my best to get in a workout when I could. Some weeks that was 4-5 days, some weeks it was 1 day, and I’m still happy with my results. I feel leaner, tighter, and stronger.
I cant wait to continue to share my progress with you all. The VIP program works in four week increments, so I’ll be measuring again at the end of March and will be sharing more results and thoughts with you then!
