From the moment that you become a mother, it seems as though you are suddenly equipped with the ability to find unique and new uses for everything. Sometimes it’s out of necessity, and other times it’s because you find that a product can be used in more ways than what it was initially intended for. Case in point, when your favorite products for your babies also double as some of your favorite adult beauty products. Johnson’s® baby products have been around forever. For over 120 years actually. My parents used them on me, and when I became a mom myself, I opted to use them on my kids as well. There’s just something about the smell of their baby lotion that instantly makes me feel nostalgic about my own childhood. Over the years, I have found that not only do their products work great on my babes, but many of them pull double duty and work for me too. How, you might ask, do I use Johnson’s® baby products myself? Allow me to enlighten you…
I can’t even begin to tell you how many uses there are for this product. One of my favorites is as a makeup remover. Just a dab on a tissue or cotton ball, and it gently, but efficiently removes all of your eye makeup. Coincidentally, I also like to keep a bottle in my shower to smooth on after shaving, and last but not least, I regularly smooth some on my growing baby bump to keep my belly moisturized which helps to prevent stretch marks.
Not only is this shampoo perfect when it comes to bathing my babes, but it also works amazingly well as a mild facial cleanser. I use mine with a facial brush, or with a washcloth to gently clean my face, and I also occasionally use it to wash my hands during the winter to help keep my hands from getting too dry. My favorite use for Johnson’s® baby shampoo though? I love using it to clean my makeup brushes. It works really well to remove all of the makeup built up on my brushes, while still keeping them super soft.
Aside from the fact that this product is one of my favorite scents in the world, I have found a couple of really great ways to use it above and beyond keeping my baby’s skin smooth and soft. It seems as though these days I am extra hard on my feet and my hands, because they seem to get dry really easily. One thing that I love to do after a long day, is to slather Johnson’s® baby lotion on my feet and/or hands, and then throw on a thick pair of socks or some inexpensive gloves to help seal in the moisture. I don’t get to the spa very often these days, so this is my equivalent to a good paraffin wax dip.
On the rare occasion that I get to indulge in a nice warm bath before bed, I love to use a touch of Johnson’s® bedtime baby bath. It’s clinically proven to help your baby fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer… and let me tell you, it does the trick for me too.
Do you have a favorite Johnson’s® baby product? Or a baby product hack? I’d love to hear about it!
