It seems like with each of my babies, I have picked a color scheme and totally stuck with it in terms of nursery decor, blankets, accessories, etc. With Max, I was all for the primary colors. With Ella, I bought all things mint, pink, and gold. With Theo, I couldn’t get enough of monochrome stuff. When we learned that we were welcoming another little girl this spring, I was all too excited to choose some pretty colors and get to work on planning her nursery. I want her room to be girly, but not too girly. Modern, but still classic and tasteful too.
A few of the first items that I began to collect for our sweet girl, were some amazing blankets from Saranoni Blankets. Specifically, a couple of receiving blankets, one mini blanket, and a gorgeous swaddle. They are literally the softest things I have ever put my hands on, and when I opened the box and saw all of the colors together, I instantly fell in love. They were just the anecdote I needed to get the design ball rolling. I’ve been kind of obsessed with designing “mood boards” ever since we moved into our new house. If you’re planning to redecorate a room, I highly recommend creating one, to see how all of the things that you think you might like come together. I’ve found with a little trial and error, that as I much as I want something to work in a room, it doesn’t always, and making a mood board helps me to see things together before I make a decision that I might later regret.
As I mentioned before, the Saranoni blankets were the first piece that I added to this mood board, and ultimately the inspiration behind my color choices for this nursery. Other than that, I knew that I wanted some black and white elements in the room, and that’s when I stumbled across the floral peel and stick wallpaper. I’m thinking that we will only use this on one wall, as an accent (the wall behind her crib), and the remaining walls will either be painted a shade of white, or perhaps a very pale pink or lavender. I adore this black Jenny Lind style crib, and love the simplicity of this swiss dot crib sheet. This flushmount chandelier had me swooning from the moment I stumbled upon it, and I think it’s the perfect piece to dress up the room without being too fancy… and this rug, is one of my favorite finds to tie in all of the colors that I love so much (and it matches the blankets perfectly). The rest of the items at this point, are details to be worked out. I love this gray rocker, these dolls have been a favorite of ours for awhile now, and since the room is on the smaller side, this dresser would be the perfect size. I’m still on the hunt for a piece of art to hang over the crib, but I know that it’s out there somewhere!
Saranoni has been kind enough to allow me to giveaway a $60 shop credit just in time for their HUGE black friday sale. Be sure to head over to my Instagram feed for the details. Trust me, you need one of these blankets. I love them so much that I’m going to snag a big one for myself!
