If you’ve been around for awhile, then you know how much I love the opportunity to get creative when it comes to holidays. Halloween is fast approaching, so naturally, I wanted to take advantage and create a fun little treat for my kids… and maybe for me and my husband too! They get pretty excited about this kind of stuff, and I always enjoy coming up with fun traditions for us to enjoy each holiday season. I didn’t want this treat to be complicated or for it to require a lot of fuss to make. I just wanted something tasty and festive, and these orange screamsicle mini pies are just that.
The secret ingredient is TruMoo’s Orange Scream Milk. Inspired by the orange popsicle and vanilla ice cream treats we all know and love, TruMoo Orange Scream is made from low-fat white milk, and contains no high fructose corn syrup, no artificial growth hormones, no artificial sweeteners, and no artificial flavors or colors. When you combine it with vanilla flavored pudding mix, you’ll create the perfect filling for these fun Halloween-themed treats. Store-bought pie crusts help to simplify things even further, and the addition of whipped topping and some festive sprinkles is literally the icing on the cake… or should we say pie! These no-bake mini pies come together so fast, and are such a cinch to make, that you may even get your kids to join in on the fun.
- 2 cups of TruMoo Orange Scream Milk
- 1 3.4 oz package of vanilla flavored instant pudding and pie filling
- 6 ready-serve mini graham cracker pie crusts
- whipped cream topping
- Halloween sprinkles
- 1. In a large bowl, whisk together 2 cups of TruMoo Orange Scream Milk and the vanilla pudding mix according to the directions of the package of pudding.
- 2. Once your filling has thickened, spoon it out equally into each of the 6 mini pie crusts.
- 3. Top with whipped topping and sprinkles, and serve.
- ***If not serving right away, wait to add whipped cream and sprinkles.
Coincidentally, TruMoo Orange Scream Milk is also great served on its own. It would be perfect to have at a Halloween party, served up in some clear glasses with festive straws. We had a little fun of our own, and created some Jack-o-Lantern cups by simply using a permanent black marker on some clear plastic cups.
