Despite my deep love for pretty much anything and everything that Joanna Gaines does, this post actually has nothing to do with her, or her show Fixer Upper. As you can see from the photo above, my nickname for our new house does, however, have everything to do with the exceptionally large magnolia tree that sits in our front yard. According to our neighbors, it is “magnificent” when it blooms in the spring. As you can probably imagine, I can’t wait to see it in all its glory but this current season, fall, has always been my absolute favorite. At the moment, Autumn (and everything pumpkin spice flavored) is what I’ve got on my mind.
I have been dying to give you guys some sneak peeks of our new home since the day we moved in, but if I’m being completely honest… being the perfectionist that I am about this kind of stuff, our house is nowhere near ready to share. Rooms still need fresh paint, new flooring still needs installed, and boxes still need unpacked. I did, however, get our formal living room finished, and I had the chance to get started on decorating the “Magnolia House” for fall. Today, I’m pretty excited to have had the opportunity to team up with some other home decor loving bloggers for a fall home tour, and share some sneak peaks of our new digs. I hope you guys enjoy it, and it gives you ALL the cozy vibes. I can’t wait to share more with you all moving forward.
Mums are a fall staple, and I scored this HUGE pot for only $10 at Costco. I’m still waiting for it to fully bloom, but I know it will be gorgeous when it does. I made a DIY burlap wreath a bit more festive, by adding some faux gourds and berries that I picked up at Hobby Lobby. I love to change out our doormat every season. This one is from Target (last year, I believe).

Soft pillows and throw blankets really help to cozy up a space, and nothing is more “Fall” than flannel and plaid, so a couple of throw pillows in that material were the perfect seasonal addition to our formal living room. Candles also add a feeling of warmth, which is why I stocked up on plenty in my favorite scents. The light up pumpkins are a DIY project from several years ago. I bought the pumpkins themselves at Michael’s and added some strands of twinkle lights inside to give them a little extra something!

I picked up this rustic chicken feeder at a salvage shop when we were still living in New York, and have had so many ideas for it since. Right now it sits on the reclaimed barn wood mantle in our family room, and I can’t tell you how excited I was to fill it with fall leaves and my favorite tiny white pumpkins. It might just be my favorite piece of fall decor ever!

Thank you so much, Astleigh!
So lovely and cozy! I”m also pretty jealous of the huge magnolia tree – my husband’s gram had a giant magnolia in her yard and it was always a favorite. Also loving those great light-up pumpkins.
Thanks Kim! The tree is definitely one of my favorite things about this house!
