A huge thank you to Ninja Coffee Bar® Sytem for keeping me caffeinated on the regular and for sponsoring this post. As always, all of the thoughts and opinions expressed here are 100% my own. Thank you for supporting the brands that support Kozy & Co.
In this house, coffee is life. As in, please don’t bother me until I’ve had my first sip. I don’t even think I can blame it on having a baby who doesn’t sleep, because for me, my love affair with coffee drinks began long before having children. In the summer and in the afternoon, I like mine iced, and on a cold morning, I’m all about that hot cup of joe. No matter how it’s served, I’d be lying if I said I didn’t enjoy/need more than one cup a day.
So… “people, let me tell you ’bout my besssst friend” … aka the Ninja Coffee Bar® System. What is this genius appliance you ask? Well, aside from the fact that it has me tirelessly working to step up my barista game, it’s basically the most amazing coffee maker every created. No longer am I spending a small fortune on daily trips to the coffee shop. With just the turn of a dial, I can make a fresh pot, or just a cup, of amazing coffee in the comfort of my own home. Gone are the days of needing several machines to accommodate the needs of a day-to-day coffee drinker vs. those of a crowd (when entertaining). This one machine does it all. Among my favorite features are the built-in scoop holder (with measurements for your desired amount right on it), and the frother, which allows you to create the perfect amount of foam for that afternoon latte or cappuccino. I also love that the Ninja Coffee Bar® System has an over-ice option. Is there anything worse than when you make an iced coffee at home and it ends up totally watered down?
I know that I share a lot of goodies here on the blog, and on my instagram feed, but the truth is, I’ve really been trying hard to stay on track this year. Of course I occasionally like to indulge, but I was on the hunt for a little way to treat myself that I didn’t have to feel too guilty about. That’s when I came up with the recipe for this maple latte. With ingredients like unsweetened almond cashew milk and real maple syrup, it’s a great option for those trying to follow a Paleo lifestyle, and those just trying to cut back on calories. The added flavors of cinnamon and nutmeg, are the perfect compliment to the sweet maple syrup, and it’s a drink that can be enjoyed hot or iced. I’ve almost entirely kicked the need for my usual $5 latte full of who knows what! Thanks to the Ninja Coffee Bar® System, I’m whipping these up almost daily at home!
- 4 oz. of freshly brewed coffee
- 2 Tbs Grade A maple syrup
- 1/2 cup of unsweetened vanilla almond cashew milk (or just almond)
- ground cinnamon, to taste
- ground nutmeg, to taste
- 1. To mug, add maple syrup and freshly brewed coffee
- 2. Heat 1/2 cup of almond milk in the microwave for 45 seconds.
- 3. If you have a Ninja Coffee Bar, use the frother to achieve foam with milk. If not, add milk to a mason jar with lid and shake vigorously.
- 4. Add milk to mug, using a spoon to hold back the foam, and then top the drink with foam.
- 5. Sprinkle drink with cinnamon and nutmeg to taste.
What’s your favorite coffee drink?
