Work Smarter, Not Harder with bObi Pet

Can I be real with you all for a minute? I am not a clean freak. I mean for awhile there I made a pretty solid effort to keep my house tidy with three little ones at home, but then I realized one day that I just couldn’t do it, and I kind of threw in the towel.

I mean I still clean of course, just not constantly throughout the day. It was too much for me to take the time to neaten up, when only minutes later, my kids would be right behind me dropping crumbs on the floor all over again.

My new motto? “Work smarter, not harder”… so meet the newest addition to our family, Rosie. Rosie is a robotic vacuum created by the fine people at bobSweep, and she has quickly become my favorite child… I’m kidding (kind of!).

Seriously though, I remember when I was young, watching the Jetsons with their robotic maid, and thinking “I hope when I grow up, I can have one of those!”… hence the name, Rosie!

You guys, the bObi Pet from bObsweep is seriously amazing. With just the touch of a button she takes off and gets to work on sucking up all of the crumbs and dirt that always seems to collect on our floors. When she first arrived, I was a little skeptical about whether or not she would clean as well as a standard vacuum, but the first time I opened the dust bin to empty it into our trash, I was amazed (and a little disgusted) at how much stuff she had picked up.

We decided to go with the bObi Pet model, and I know what you’re thinking, “you guys don’t even have pets”, but sometimes my kids are kind of like little animals, and between myself and our little Rapunzel, Ella, the amount of hair we both shed is comparable to that of a Saint Bernard, so it seemed like the logical choice! It’s available in both scarlet and silver, and she’s pretty chic if you ask me.

Not only does Rosie vacuum, but she mops as well, and she comes equipped with a UV light that helps to sanitize your floors as she sweeps! Germaphobes rejoice!

I generally wait until after all of my kids go to bed, then I let her get to work while I enjoy a glass of wine and binge watch something on Netflix. Sounds delightful, doesn’t it? It is. I like to go around first and pick up any toys or other items that might be laying around on the floor and could get in her way, but otherwise I leave the cleaning to our bObi Pet! We do occasionally run her during the day as well, because my older kids are kind of obsessed with her, but Theo is a little afraid of her, so I try to wait until he is napping in an effort to not torture him too much. She is much quieter than a regular vacuum though, which is a huge bonus when it comes to running her while the kids are down!

A couple of my favorite features are that she can be totally mangaged from a handheld remote, and that when her battery starts to get low, she finds her charger completely on her own. I know, so cool right?

I will note that I do still use our standard vacuum for big cleaning jobs, but the amount of sweeping and vacuuming that I do on a regular basis has been significantly reduced. The luxury of being able to press a button and pass along some of the housework to our bObi Pet allows me to use that time doing other things, and anything that makes my life easier as a mom is HUGE in my opinion.
