It’s been a long time since I last posted an update here on the blog. In fact, a little too long. I keep finding myself getting so caught up in the day to day around here, that sometimes, before I have even realized it weeks, or worse, even months have passed by.
Our life is chaotic in the best kind of way. Now that M&E are both in school a few days a week, it seems as though we spend much of our time transporting them to and from, and then back and forth again… and little Theo is just along for the ride.
Recently we made our annual trip to the tree farm to cut down our Christmas tree, and once again, we chose a doozy… an 11 footer that needed a bit of a trim to fit in our family room. I always feel a little like the Griswold’s when we pull into our driveway with it strapped on top of our car, but once it’s in and all decorated I manage to convince myself that it’s the best tree yet (each and every year).
Max has been taking ice skating lessons and is absolutely loving it. He’s getting more and more brave and trying new things each week and I couldn’t be more proud of him. We also got the chance to put both he and Ella on skis for the first time, which was a total blast for them. I never learned how to ski myself, and now that they are learning, I wish that I had, so that we could go as a family. Perhaps I will give it a go… or maybe I’ll just hang out indoors with Theo, while sipping on hot cocoa. We shall see.
Theo is growing and developing at a pace I didn’t even know was possible. It’s hard to believe that he is almost eight months old already. I know I’ve said it before, but I swear with each child the time just passes faster and faster. He started crawling awhile ago, and shortly after, began pulling himself up onto furniture. It’s actually really funny… he almost refuses to sit now. When we try to place him on the floor, he locks up his legs like he is trying to stand. It’s all he wants to do. I get the feeling it won’t be long before he’s really on the move.
Aside from all of this, we’re trying to embrace this season. It’s such a joy now that the kids are at an age where they really enjoy it. I love continuing and starting new traditions with them, and just hope that they are loving all of the memory making along the way.
We decorated gingerbread houses the other day, we’ve baked cookies, enjoyed hot chocolate, and naturally we’re watching as many Christmas movies as humanly possible. Now that it’s officially December, we’re diving headfirst into anything and everything holiday related!
As always, I want to thank all of you for following along here on Kozy & Co. The fact that you take the time to read what I have to say is appreciated more than you will ever know. Your continued support is what has turned this hobby of mine into something more, and for that I am truly grateful.
