One of the most exciting things about being pregnant with your first child (besides hearing that heartbeat for the very first time) is the experience of registering for baby gifts. Having the ability to hand pick your very own “wish list” full of amazing items, for your impending bundle of joy, can be a ton of fun, but it can also feel extremely overwhelming.
I vividly remember preparing to register when we were expecting our first child. Naturally I put in hours worth of research, and asked all of my mama friends for recommendations on their favorite baby gear. Yet I still recall feeling totally lost, the moment that we set foot in the store. No one walked through aisles with us, answering questions and making suggestions. We were simply handed a lengthy checklist and sent off on our own… two soon-to-be parents with very little experience and zero knowledge about what car seat was safest, or what brand of bottles would best suit a breastfed baby.
I’ve learned a lot over the last four+ years since I became a mom. If only I could go back and do it all over again. By now I’ve figured out which products were absolute necessities, and which ones were a total waste. What products have stood the test of time in our house, and which ones I ended up replacing as our family grew in size and better, more efficient products hit the market.
Today I’ve teamed up with The Baby Cubby, to tell you a little about them and what they do, and to share a few of the items that I would register for now, if I could do it all over again after having three kids. My “must have” list, if you will, now that I’m a bit wiser and a bit more experienced than I was the first time around!
The Baby Cubby is my new favorite spot to shop for items for my kids. It is SO not your typical baby store. In fact, I totally wish I had known about them when I had my first child. They have an incredible team that is made up of parents who have been there before, and who have the experience you’re looking for when making the big decisions, like which stroller to invest in or what baby monitor is best. They make it a point to only carry the best and safest baby gear, and if you’re unable to work with them in person in their retail store, and have to register online instead, they totally make it work. The team at The Baby Cubby strives to engage with their customers via social media and through their cubby community blog, where they discuss some of those tough topics of parenting.
As an added bonus, they ALWAYS price match (even Amazon prices), so you can still get those big box store deals while enjoying a much more personal shopping experience.
The Baby Cubby carries some of my favorite product lines, like Boon, Little Unicorn, and Freshly Picked… all of whom make items that I would love to register for now, if I was given the opportunity!
Here are some of my favorite products from The Baby Cubby!
Little Unicorn Swaddle Blankets– I can’t say enough good things about these blankets, they’re super soft, breathable, and the designs are my favorite!
Sakura Bloom Ring Sling– If you’ve read some of my previous posts, you know how passionate I now am about baby wearing. I have a handful of carriers that I just LOVE, and this ring sling is one of them.
Little Unicorn Diaper Bag– I absolutely love Little Unicorn diaper bags. They’re stylish, affordable, and have tons of great features.
Nose Frida– I have confessed my love for the Nose Frida nasal aspirator about a million and one times on the blog. It is honestly the most genius baby invention ever.
Comotomo Bottles– I will sing this bottles praises until the day that I die. This is the ONLY bottle that any of my exclusively breastfed babies have ever taken… and we have tried them all.
Loved By Sophia Claire Pacifier Clips– These are hands down my favorite paci clips, and they come in a bazillion gorgeous colors. I use these for pacifiers and teething toys, to keep them close, and from ending up on the floor.
Boon Flair High Chair– I still haven’t pulled the trigger on this purchase yet, but you better believe that if I had a registry for baby number three, this high chair would have been on it.
Boon Squirt Spoon– Our favorite utensil for feeding a baby on the go!
Pehr Storage Bins– Decorative storage pieces are totally my jam. These bins by Pehr come in a bunch of fun colors and designs and are the perfect pieces for a nursery or playroom.
Freshly Picked Crib Moccs– My kids have been rocking Freshly Picked Moccs for awhile now. The teeny tiny crib sized ones are the cutest, and have earned a permanent place on my must have list.
When it comes to registering, I have a much longer list of favorites, but these items top my list at the moment. I absolutely love talking about this kind of stuff, and get super excited when people ask my opinion on baby items, so feel free to spam me, and The Baby Cubby with any questions that you might have. Also, be sure to check them out to find all of these amazing items and a whole bunch more!
